DeepEX Software Versions and Optional Modules (In Detail)
Below we provide some additional information for all Standard DeepEX software versions. These versions can be also customized at the time of the purchase or in any future date, since additional optional modules and upgrades can be purchased at any time, updating the originally obtained version.
In the following paragraphs, we also include information about our additional, optional modules Finite Element Analysis, Gravity Walls and Pile Supported Abutments. These modules can be activated in any of the Standard software versions, enhancing the software design capabilities.

DeepEX 2D (Basic Version)
The DeepEX 2D version can design an unlimited number of 2D sections. It can design any wall type (Soldier Pile walls, Secant pile walls, sheet pile walls, diaphragm (slurry) walls, SPTC walls and more), and any common support system (anchored walls with tiebacks and helical anchors, braced excavations with struts and rakers, top-down excavations with slabs, cofferdams, deadman walls, bin-type walls and more).
DeepEX 2D version implements the classical Limit Equilibrium Analysis method, and can also perform Non-Linear Analysis (Beam on Elastoplastic Foundations Analysis Method), with use of elastoplastic Winkler Springs. DeepEX software implements several methods for the calculation of the earth coefficients (Coulomb, Rankine, Lancelotta, Caquot-Kerisel), several methods for the calculation of driving and resisting pressures (Active - Passive, factored, Peck Apparent Pressures, FHWA Apparent Pressures, Custom Trapezoidal, Two-Step Rectangular, Adaptive, WMATA, NYC code etc), and several methods for the calculation of the water pressures (Hydrostatic, Simplified Flow, Full 2D Flownet Analysis).
DeepEX 2D presents all results of the 2D systems analysis in tables and in graphs on the model area for each construction stage. It performs structural and geotechnical design of all project items (walls, supports, walers etc). In addition, it can perform slope stability analysis of slope surfaces and wall systems, with or without the use of soil nails.
DeepEX 2D exports full detailed reports in PDF and Word format.
DeepEX 2D Plus Version
The DeepEX 2D Plus version has all the DeepEX 2D design capabilities and it also includes the additional optional module "Export Drawings to DXF". This allows us to export all 2D section sketches, wall section details and 2D result graphs of each construction stage to DXF with a click. DeepEX 3D Version
The DeepEX 3D version, can create and analyze all 2D sections (exactly as the DeepEX 2D), and it addition it can use these 2D sections and create the full 3D frame of the model. It generates the plan view, where we can access and edit (positions, structural sections etc) all items on the model area, for each bracing level (all project supports, walls and walers).
DeepEX 3D mode uses the surcharges from the selected and analyzed 2D sections to load each wall on the model area. It gives detailed results for all project supports and walers individually, so we can review all project items taking into consideration their location. Find out more
DeepEX 3D version also includes the Cost Estimation module. We can define our cost preferences in the software database, and it can calculate total project cost in detail (quantities, labor, materials etc). Find out more
Finally, the DeepEX 3D version can export the generated 3D project model to a 3D hologram, which can be reviewed in the desktop or with the use of virtual or augmented reality glasses. Find out more
DeepEX 3D Plus Version
The DeepEX 3D Plus version has all the capabilities of DeepEX 3D (design of 2D design sections and full projects 3D design), and it can also export all project sketches to DXF.
It can export all sketches mentioned to the DeepEX 2D plus above, and it can also export the full project plan view and walls front view (since the 3D model is generated). Find out more
DeepEX 3D Advanced Version
DeepEX 3D Advanced version includes all DeepEX 3D Plus capabilities, as mentioned above (design of 2D sections and 3D models, cost estimation, export 3D model holograms and export all project sketches to DXF). Moreover, it can perform building damage assessment for all buildings that are close to the excavation. DeepEX uses thorough methods to estimate potential crack widths, damage categories and building settlement in three dimensions. Find out more
Finite Element Analysis - Module, Additional to any Software Version
DeepEX software includes our Finite Element Analysis engine - DeepFEM. This option can be added as an additional module in any software version, allowing the user to have access to all different analysis methods - Limit Equilibrium Analysis, Non-Linear Analysis (Elastoplastic Springs) and Finite Element Analysis.
Our Finite Element Analysis engine can be used within the software interactive interface.Different soil models (Coulomb, Cam Clay, Exponential, Small Strain Hardeding) are included and can be easily selected within DeepEX. The software can present all calculated results (wall result diagrams, support reactions, surface settlements, wall displacements and more) in tables and graphically on the model area.
Our Finite Element Analysis Engine - DeepFEM allows us to take into consideration full soil-structure interaction.
Gravity Walls & Pile Supported Abutments
Optional Module, Additional to any Software Version
DeepEX software includes the options to design Gravity Walls and Pile Supported Abutments. These options come as additional, optional modules that can be activated in any software version. DeepEX can design any Gravity retaining wall of any shape, calculating also the sliding and overturning safety factors of the wall. A gravity wall can also be used as a pier or an abutment wall with piles. In that case, DeepEX can calculate and design the foundation piles placed below the abutment. Finally, with this module, we can add piles to any foundation placed on the model area as a 3D load and design the foundation pile system as well. Find out more
