In this example we will examine a deadman wall configuration with two sheet pile walls.


The following data is available:


a) Soil properties: Sand, friction angle = 30 degrees, total unit weight 120 pcf, loading modulus of elasticity Eload= 300 ksf, reloading modulus of elasticity Eur = 900 ksf. Ultimate bond resistance for ground anchors 40 psi.


b) Excavation depth: 23 ft, anchor connecting 2 sheet pile walls at 8 ft depth. The left sheet pile wall has a depth of 23 ft, and the right wall has a depth of 50 ft.
